Process presentation
RtB employs multifamily housing blocks of flats (“polykatoikia”) as the housing intervention unit for creating affordable housing solutions. The implementation steps followed so far include: the public call for participation of housing units, the evaluation of applications, ongoing participatory workshops with selected inhabitants to co-design interventions in buildings, the establishment of the Municipality of Egaleo’s Housing Office. The overall aim is to offer multi-level solutions and thus improve housing and living conditions, by enhancing communities of mutual support, solidarity and institutional coverage.

Impact
The establishment of the Housing Office and the Co-Living Hub, two municipal structures that will make part of the Municipality of Egaleo’s housing policy in the following period after the project ends (expected transferable impact to other European cities as well).
Next steps
Following implementation steps include: the contracting of housing units by the Municipality of Egaleo the implementation of technical interventions the establishment of the Co-living Hub. The project has 3 transfer partners, namely the Municipalities of Paris, Napoli and Józsefváros (Budapest), which will employ and diffuse best practices and policy tools on housing affordability.
