A programme by the People’s University of Social and Solidarity Economy, broadcast on Tuesday, 26 January 2016 on FM 100.6, Thessaloniki’s municipal volunteer radio station, on the topic:
“Product Quality and Control in Cooperatives”
The programme discussed the possibilities and methods for assessing the quality of products distributed by cooperative initiatives. It highlighted the importance of ensuring that products do not contain prohibited chemical additives, harmful microbiological loads, unsuitable or unsafe substances, and that they are not genetically modified, expired or adulterated.
The discussion also examined the journey of pesticides “from farm to fork” and their effects on consumer health and the environment, as well as the importance of laboratory testing and appropriate equipment for detecting pesticide residues in food.
